well most commissions I get are from people I know in real life, or their friends, so those are usually pretty easy transactions lol there are dozens of other artists on tumblr that got this hammered out much better than I
what most do (what I should do) is have a post that specifically charts out what their charge for what, how and when to pay, and how they will receive the work (most get them emailed in high quality image with no watermark, although a few would send you a print) heres an example here and here that way, if someone asks, you can refer them there, or have a link to that post on the front of your page, so any casual visitor can look willy nilly when they have time. Payments are typically done via paypal
I also know that people dont always work digitally, in which case I would assume the person would include shipping fees into their commission
at this point, I charge $10 for sketches (sometimes inked if I have time) I’ll add color for another 10, maybe add a bit more if its really complicated. Tattoo designs are $15. I’ve sold large prints for like $50, and I have smaller prints for $5, but keep in mind that these things vary depending on the artist :)
